Paul Thomas is the founder and CEO of Somnia, a Layer 1 blockchain designed for high-performance gaming and metaverse applications. He began his career as a software engineer at Goldman Sachs, focusing on risk systems, before joining Improbable, where he spent over 11 years building MMO infrastructure, cloud platforms, and commercial teams. At Improbable, he led the development of large-scale virtual worlds and later spearheaded its metaverse and Web3 initiatives. In 2020, he incubated Somnia to serve as the decentralized economic layer for the metaverse. Thomas is passionate about using blockchain to create a more equitable digital society.
